Heritage of the region

Its popular architecture still maintains some singular samples in villages such as Ruanes, Botija, Valdefuente with its sgraffito or Montánchez. Of its rich historical-artistic heritage, we highlight the castro of Villasviejas del Tamuja in Botija, the Roman road of La Plata, the castle of Montánchez, the hermitages of Our Lady of Salor in Torrequemada and the Christ of Amparo in Benquerencia. Not forgetting a great jewel of Hispano-Visigothic architecture, the Basilica of Santa Lucia del Trampal in Alcuéscar.
