Discover the nature of Sierra de Montánchez y Tamuja
The steppe, the mountains and the pastureland define the characteristic morphology of the territory. The pastureland of our region is home to three majestic holm oaks in its infinite wealth of biodiversity and ancestral traditions. Declared singular trees (La Nieta, La Solana and La Terrona), La Terrona in Zarza de Montánchez stands out in particular The mountain range is the other great identifying component of the region’s landscape. Granite in nature, it is located to the south of the territory and Montánchez sits on it. The region is an excellent place to observe steppe birds. The plains of Sierra de Fuentes and Santa Marta de Magasca are home to the highest concentration of steppe birds in Western Europe.
