Description
The route that crosses the Sierra de la Mosca is an exceptional journey for those who enjoy hiking and natural landscapes. From the village itself, the trail climbs towards El Risco, offering expansive views over the Llanos de Cáceres.
Upon reaching the fork that leads to the summit, a detour allows access to the Ermita del Cristo del Risco, the viewpoint of the Llanos, and the weather radar, three perfect spots to contemplate the surroundings from the heights.
The itinerary continues near the Wildlife Recovery Center and the Los Hornos area, skirting the mountain range among Mediterranean scrub. During the walk, it is common to observe red kites, kestrels, or bustards, in a landscape dominated by holm oaks and cork oaks.
This is an ideal route to discover the natural richness of Sierra de Fuentes, where history, spectacular panoramas, and notable biodiversity are combined.
