Festival of the Boards

The Festival of the Boards is celebrated every September 21st in honor of Saint Matthew, the patron saint of the municipality, and has more than five centuries of history. It is one of the most representative traditions of the town and combines religious, cultural, and festive events. The central moment is the parade of the boards, which are decorated by families and neighbors and carried in procession, accompanied by traditional dances such as the Chicurrichi. Subsequently, an auction of the boards is held, the proceeds of which are used for the celebration itself, strengthening the spirit of solidarity and community. The boards are both religious symbols and artisanal expressions that reflect the local identity and history.
