Description
The Feast in Honor of Saint Anthony is celebrated in mid-June.
This festival has both pagan and religious reasons.
On one hand, the Saint, who is greatly venerated in the locality, is honored to pray that no family is without bread.
A mass in honor of Saint Anthony is celebrated along with the offering of bread, followed by a procession in which only single men and women can carry the Saint, as a reward they will find a partner. The event includes 'Las Pantarrullas', 'Fogoteros', and the 'Burning of the Maza'.
But there are also various entertainments.
The festival lasts all day. From the morning, the neighbors dress in their finest clothes and taste the typical products of the land: figs, wild asparagus, thistles, testicles, Almoharín bread...
There is also a display of handicrafts: Lace, wicker, ironwork, painting, embroidery...
